Ghost Pepper potting

atxmanNovember 14, 2012

Hello all, I have a ghost pepper plant that I have been growing since July from a seed. From July til late Sept I have kept the plant inside, the last month and a half I have kept outside during the day and bring in at night. It has grown about 4 inches the last month with new leaves growing fast. It is currently in a 1 gal pot, when should I transplant to a larger pot and what size should it be? I plan to keep it outside during the day as long as the high keeps above 60 F. Is that a good plan?

Thanks

David

David, you will want to end up with it in a 5 gallon pot. I would go ahead and move it, you will be suprised how many roots it has.

Yes, you could move it, but lugging 1 gal of dirt is a lot easier than lugging 5 gal. Leaving it in the smaller pot for a while won't hurt it this small. Your call.

As for moving it outside, IMO the direct sunlight justifies it more than the temps.
