Is Golden Showers patented?

NVL4July 10, 2014

Hi,

I am under the impression that GS is not patented, but I want to verify. I have one that I bought this spring and it has done really well for me. The AC guy knocked over a cane and I wanted to know if it is legal for me to root the cuttings from that cane.

This rose was patented in 1956; rose patents are only valid for twenty rose, so the patent expired decades ago. It is therefore legal for you to root cuttings.

Good luck,

John
