open pollenated hips.

stanc(5)December 6, 2009

I spent sometime harvesting hips and seeds for the first time and am interested if any one has a idear as to what I can expect in the way of plants and flowers.

The roses in my garden include Hp,Bourbon, moss, gallicas, damask, rugosas a few ht and floribunda also a few minis.

I am sure this is not the most scientfic way start but if I get some seeds to germinate I wll be thrilled.

Thanks

Stanc

op seedlings generally resemble the parent; often they are inferior to the parent.
Are your seeds being stratified? If so, they should begin sprouting in early Jan.
