Here are the Aloe seedlings

conroe_joe(9a)November 30, 2003

I've finally figured out my new camera and want to show off my Aloe seedlings. I turned one pot on its side you you can seed the seedlings from the top. There is an Agave species in one pot and a Yucca species in another (tallest leaves); all the others are Aloe species. They are about 2 months old here and have been under fluorescent lights all the time, room temperature, not much fertilizer but a little.

Some seeds didn't germinate so I've dried down the pots. I'll put winter types outside now that it is colder (nights between 30 F and 50 F, but days sunny), and I'll try summer growers again in spring.

You are going to have one great collection of Aloes! I tried some Aloe greatheadii subs davyana, which is very common around Johannesburg (I have a couple growing wild in my garden) and they germinate very easily and germination success rate is very high. Good luck with the Aloes!
