Thank you so much - Salvia Guy...unbelievable pix.
Thank you. Great page for quick visual reference, will be saving that one.
Steve, I beleive your from your from Oregon? I am trying to find a good nursery for salvia anywhere in the Portland area. After going to 'Seven Dee's'and 'Portland Nursery' this week end, I came home with one salvia. Not what I had hoped for. Is it still too early here?
The plant I did buy is s. Lyrata. After investigation, I find that it is weedy in the south. Any problem with that here.
If you think that I am Steve, then Yes, I am in Oregon, but I am not Steve. :-)
I find S. lyrata 'Burgundy Bliss' to be weedy in that it will self sow. The species, green leaves with burgundy veining, seems not to be... so far.
You want to email me.
Still a very good site for salvia pictures!

Do check out Robin's web page, especially if you are in the USA. He has good digital images a lot of gems not available here, including a flock of Bolivian and Chinese ones and what looks like S. gravida, one I have lusted for many years.

OK everyone.. i started drooling with salviaguys yahoo site.
this is a request of mine.
I have a website for selling pictures BUT i made a page and posted some salvias, only 3 species. They are on the page called backyard beauty. I have tried to identify them but NEED TO ABSOLUTELY KNOW. the one with the hummingbird is the one i want to dig up today or soon, but it is blooming. Hubby cut i back to nearly nothing and yet it is blooming. I bought the same species but in white and want to plant them together. Red and white, Yeah!
thank you too for the cool websites, i am going to start to try and add some more salvias to the yard for the hummingbirds just love them!
nicole zone 9/10.
