Wanted: the most common one...

roberto2July 16, 2014

Hallo! Im back. Now urging for help. Do You know that a Sans is growing wild like a horrible invasive alien in the most immaculate neighborhoods of Florida ? Well, I need that plant. I am trying to ascertain (from its leaf characters) if this species comes from the original South African stock (described by Commelin and by our unfortunate Petagna) or is it a totally different species (maybe : metallica, forskaoliana, aubrytiana, and, why not? trifasciata). This could spell death sentence to the hated species S.hyacinthoides. Just another squabble among taxonomists
But I can exchange with any of You, one or more of my plants for one or more plants (or leaf or rhizome cuttings) of this species with locality collection data.
Thanks to all in advance!

Sorry, I can't help you. Last trip to Florida, I tried to find it also. Found common trifasciata but in somewhat controlled conditions. I was in central Florida. Problem was in the southern tip.
