Does anybody knows how to break the seed dormancy of lettuce. I have just harvested a few grams of it. After drying and cleaning, I've tried to germinate a few hundred seeds but none has sprouted. please help
Needs light for germination so sow on top of the soil or only just barely covered
I did germinate them also in filter paper under light. Still, not a single seed sprouted. Anybody has any idea?
They do like to sprout in cool weather...myabe you need to place a sown and damp flat into the fridge for a couple of weeks and then take it out and place it in a sunny area...you should have sprouts in about a week to ten days.
