HI- can lettuce seed saved from this season (early spring)

be re planted this season for a fall crop or does the seed need to rest the winter?

The only time seeds need a breathing time is when storing them.

Some seeds actually do germinate better after a storage period, not sure why, it just is. I don't think that holds true for lettuce seed though so you should be good to plant a fall crop.
