seed saving and sunflower moth

shlisten(Z5 ont canada)September 8, 2013

My coneflowers, rudbeckias, and heliopsis all suffered from and infestestation of sunfower moth larvae, ...can I salvage any part of the seedhead or should I consider the whole seedhead a dud.

I had problems with that moth too. Haven't tried to save any seed from any of these plants as yet, so I'm not sure, but you can always start pulling apart some of the seedheads to see if there are any viable-looking seeds in there.
