White sage seeds/plants?

RodneyJSNovember 5, 2011

I was looking to acquire White Sage seeds/plants. Does anyone have any to spare?

It's too late to collect seeds in quantity this year. If you'd asked the question in July or August, it'd be different. You might try Theodore Payne Foundation for seeds or Las Pilitas or Tree of Life for plants. S. apiana is easy to propagate from seeds or cuttings. I've done both. See my thread from 2008.

Another good source is Horizon Herbs, they also have plants at times. I have their plants growing in Arizona that have survived 0- 110 temps, at 4500 ft.

Can't think of a native plant nursery close to you, but El Nativo or Theodore Payne nurseries in LA will have S. apiana in 1 gallons, the best size to plant here, imo. Stover seeds and Theodore Payne will have seeds for retail.

If Rodney likes Calif. native plants, he'll enjoy the drive to Tree of Life Nursery and/or Las Pilitas.
