Re: Kousa Dogwood Seeds & Burr OAK Seeds

I have lots of these but was wondering -do you leave the outer fleshy part on the kernel or do you let it dry and send the whole thing? The seed is actually just the small part in the middle of this large raspberry looking thing isn't it?

And on the burr oak they have 3 large separate areas inside the seed-do these need to be separated out before planting as would be 3 different seeds in each acorn. These are very large and fresh. Each white part inside the acorn in about 1 1/2 to 2 in. x 1/2 in. in size. So any help on either would be appreciated so I could trade some off. Thanks, Melinda

My husband plants the acorn from the Burr Oak, but he has never taken an acorn apart. An acorn is a seed, as far as I know.

Anyway, he gets one tree per acorn.
