Liatris seeds sprouting in their packet

harebelle(z6a NY)November 18, 2005

I've saved seed from many of the blooming things around here for a few years. It's a great way to cheaply fill in on a sizable property.

This year, my liatris seed is sprouting-in the packet. It must have been still damp when packed, so here I am with about eleventy-nine sprouts. Do you suppose I could pot the sprouts and have them grow indoors? Or should I pick out the sprouts and compost them?

Why don't you just plant them outside and water them in? I don't imagine your ground could be frozen yet.
