Hen-and-Chickens in my combat boots

greenthumbgardenerMay 29, 2006

I have about 10 varieties of Hen-and-Chickens (Sempervivums), and I like to grow them in odd containers such as odd shaped or interesting boots or shoes. Carefully cut 5 or 6 holes in your boot or shoe, fill with ordinary garden soil, and poke a plant in each hole. Step back and listen for the comments.

I'm sorry to say that I have no pictures. Most areas of my life are very organized, but I think that my camera and I need some counseling. When I'm ready, it isn't. Last year I thought that I was all prepared to take some pictures of my wife and I decorating the Christmas tree and decorating the house for the holidays. We wanted to send them to our youngest daughter who moved to Texas with her husband. I was so happy that everything turned out so good. It was the prettiest tree we ever had. Too bad my daughter will never see the pictures!! Walgreen destroyed the film! That sums it up with my life with cameras. Maybe I should visit a 'Camera Forum' instead. BIll
