Inexpensive plant stakes?

I use pea sticks which are nothing more than twiggy branches from shrubs like butterfly bush. I cut off a small branch, remove the leaves, the cut the end at an angle so it will push into the soil easily. It's a handy method and looks much more natural than anything totally upright and stiff.
