Need 'spread & forget' seed suggestion

dtownjbrown(6a-CintiOH)June 13, 2010

Yesterday, I decided to finally trim back some branches from a honeysuckle over my driveway that was making it difficut to get in/out of the car and before I knew it I had carved out a nice little shady area. I envision a bench and a birdbath among a small oasis of multi-season bloom (if thats even possible in shade).

Unfortunately, I dont have the time to work on it right now. So, I need some suggestions on types of seed that I can spread & forget, except for weeding of course. Im looking for a ground cover, some upright plants and something compact or bushy. Thanks in advance :-)

p.s. the area faces east so it gets about 2 or 3 hours of direct morning sun.

I would start out with violas, and possibly impatiens.
