Timing of the Wooly Hackberry Aphids this year

anntn6b(z6b TN)September 13, 2005

We aren't seeing them yet, but are in a drought.

Does anyone know when they appear- so we can move plants, farm trucks, slow moving cats at the right time?

Ann

Well, I think that this might be an off year for those icky critters. I would think that your time for a major infestation is already over.

a few weeks ago i had an arborist visit my yard due to concerns for my two hackberry trees...the ick from them was affecting all the plants under them with sooty mold...he said the problem were those aphids and recommended the bayer tree and shrub insect control...i applied it and am noticing a big improvement...bz
