Harvesting agave pups

Anyone know how to harvest and transplant agave pups?

First, acquire full body armor!

I clip the tips off the spines to make it a bit safer to work around, but all you have to do is pick a pup and chop down between it and the parent to sever the rhizome.

Then pull the pup out of the ground and let the roots dry out for a while and replant it where you want it.
