sunflower question

lisa2004(NY Z5/6)January 21, 2007

I tried growing sunflowers with my 5 year-old daughter last year because I thought she'd really like the big flowers. Unfortunately, I chose a variety that flopped all over the place because the stems were not strong. What are some good varieties that stand upright? (tall or short).

There must be some special varieties just for New York, check at your local Nursery and see what they suggest. There are many varieties to choose from. Norma
