Peach Tree

carol_nv(Las Vegas NV)July 16, 2005

Hi..I planted a peach tree (Tropic Snow) a few years ago. Makes you wonder why I would plant a tree called Tropic Snow when It's 114 degrees out. It's suppose to be LowChill, 225 hrs. I get fruit, but the peaches never get bigger then a walnut. And most of them burn up before they rippen. What a surprise!!....We have many kinds of peach trees here in the nurserys..Can someboby that lives here recommend my next peach tree..Thanks Carol

Are you thinning your fruits in early spring ??

Here are some varieties that Star Nursery suggest ... sorry I'm not a fruit tree person but this is what i dug up out of the garage ... by the way give our extension service a call ...

Dwarf Varietis .. Bonanza ( Early / Low chill = ** )
Garden Sun
Pix Zee
Southern Rose **
Others ..
Belle Of Georgia
Desert Gold **
Early Elberta
Flordaprince **

Hope that helps.

Good Day ...
