Pest Cube?

MiniGerdener876April 1, 2013

Hi,

In Mel's book there are instructions on creating the wire cage. I was wondering, could I create that with fiberglass insect screen? Or would it mess up pollination? I could take it off during the day for a bit to ensure some insects come to the garden. Has anyone tried it?

I'm thinking of something like this:

Thanks!

I think you should be fine. Depending on what you're planning to plant under it you might not need to remove it. A good number of garden veggies are self pollinating (beans, peas, tomatoes, pappers) and cages like you've mentioned are used to control and prevent cross pollination.
