My HT garden here in Pasadena.
My Mister Lincoln is about 3 1/2 feet grown in a pot. I can't imagine a rose being that tall. Sheesh!!!
The flowers are gorgeous. WOW!!
What's the yellow one?
My Lincoln is own root and only grows to 3ft-4ft tall in the ground...lol
Nice pic henryinct! :-)
The yellow is Gold Medal. All of these (46) were planted in Late February to mid March. Mr Lincoln is 7 1/5 feet high and soon will have to be cut way back. I also have Oklahoma which is only 4 1/2 feet high and has produced about three times as many blooms as Mr Lincoln. The blooms are darker red, a bit smaller and more cup shaped and just as fragrant.
Impressive! My neighbor has a Mr. Lincoln that grows 8-10 ft tall, but rarely blooms. To me, that would be two strikes against Mr. Lincoln--but they tell me that when it blooms, it is so beautiful and smells to good that it makes up for its other limitations. Myself, I think I'll just enjoy yours and hers--from a distance. : )
There is no doubt that Mr Lincoln's blooms are very impressive and fairly long lasting. In that picture there are three blooms and three big buds. Rebloom after this will be slow. We've probably had only about 20 blooms total the whole year.
I think our own-root Lincoln does about the same approx 15- 20 blooms the entire year...
Blooms on the bush blow fairly fast on this one. 24hr-72hr and petals drop.
They looking very happy and healthy, Henry!
