What is eating ALL the leaves on my eggplants,

usha_srinivasan(z5/6 SE MI)May 30, 2012

kale and sunflower ? The plants are gnawed to the stems so I now only have a skeleton plant. The tomatoes, peppers, chamomile, chives, squash, basil, cilantro planted right next are fine.

I live in a city lot, no deer. Could it be squirrels ?

a neighborhood dog ?

So bummed out :(

It could be snails or slugs. Do grasshoppers live in your area? They leave rounded bite marks, larger than you would think for an insect.

Here in PA, the flea beetles do a number on eggplants.
