Yucca aliofolia in Nashville

TommyNashvilleFebruary 7, 2012

This is my Yucca aliofolia. Believe it or not, I found these yuccas, at half their size, on the side of the road in my neighborhood- ready for the trash. The people tore them out to put in a pool. I asked if I could take them and they all rooted well. I cut off all the bent and broken leaves (from them being ripped out of the ground and trashed) and I just kept trimming them over the months to maintain shape. This is another plant that stores might tell you is not hardy but I have never lost even one to the cold.

Those look so neat. Looking at their potential shown in your picture, it's hard to believe anyone would through out something like that!

Thanks Brandon. In this case, one man's trash really was another man's treasure.
