Another winter ending...

Lowest temperature this year for Knoxville: 10 degrees. Quick glimpse at the past 9 winters:

2003: 12

2004: 20

2005: 12

2006: 12

2007: 11

2008: 11

2009: 5

2010: 10

2011: 10

Hmmm...good thing I'm not trying to read into anything too much. If I did I might be tempted to conclude that Knoxville is nowhere near its supposed 6b/7a zone ranking;)

In regards to local weather, I'm more concerned about the possible shift in average precipitation. I don't have figures handy, but I know quite a few of our recent years have been very short on rainfall. At least it hasn't been as bad as GA.

I agree. What is even more curious is that average precipitation has been increasing, especially for fall. So are we seeing higher average annual percipitation coupled with increasing summer drought?
