My First Garden Blog

kr222(6b)July 28, 2009

I started a square foot garden in raised beds this season. I've had a lot of success with celery, romaine lettuces, peppers, carrots, bunching onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and garlic in them. I love the results so much that I want to add two more beds for next season.

I do plant in other areas pretty intensively but not as strictly in a SFG sense. I'd love to share my pictures with you. They are posted at the following site: http://kimspagarden.blogspot.com/

Good job Kim!

I especially like the rain barrel idea, after suffering a coronary over the price they wanted for a "real" one.

Looks good, I'm a fan of the mucho nacho my self. I'm planning on over wintering a few of them indoors.

RJ,
Mucho Nacho looks like a great pepper to overwinter. They stay under 3 feet tall (so far) and are HEAVY producers of really big jalapenos. I can't keep up with them. I only planted two and I have freezer bags full of them. My husband is a hot pepper junkie, so he can't get enough of them. They are big enough to easily stuff...I haven't tried that yet, but they are big enough. I'm sure we're not alone in being fans of Mucho Nachos.
