Super Sweet Yellow Tomato

brambleoak(4 - WI)January 1, 2011

I am looking for the name of a SUPER, SUPER sweet yellow, heirloom tomato. A little bigger than a "cherry" type. I tasted it 2 yrs ago at the Tomato Fest in Janesville but can't remember the name.

Can you give me some sweet yellow tomato variety names? Maybe it'll jar my memory....

Thanks in advance!

Yellow, or orange? I won $2500 in a tomato contest with Jumbo Jim Orange because it was as sweet as a Sungold, but, to state the obvious, it's orange, not yellow.

It could not have been Jumbo Jim Orange, as they are quite a bit bigger than the cherry size he suggested, but still a very nice tomato.

Could it be perhaps (Big Sungold) as bred by Reinhart Kraft in Germany who is a wizard at breeding sweet and new tomatoes.

brambleoak(4 - WI) was yellow. Slightly fruity tasting and very sweet. I've eaten Sungold and it's similar but so sweet that I couldn't believe it was really a tomato. I think the variety started with an M.....

Thanks for your help so far! I appreciate it.

Galinas and Mirabell sound familiar to me. I'll look into those. Thanks gponder!
