What is destroying my tomatoes? Verticillium Wilt? Pictures insid

mroczaJuly 20, 2009

I live in upstate NY. My tomatoes are showing signs of some disease. The leaves are getting brown and wilted on the bottom of the plant and I am noting brown spots on stems. Please let me know what can it be and what can I do to stop it from spreading? Anna

Not verticllium.

But sorry to say, it does look like late blight, nasty disease which is rampant this season.

Google Potato Tomato Famine and you will find a zillion articles on the blight that is affecting plants in the Northeast.
