Lines all over tomato / what pest?

animalsJuly 1, 2008

Sorry if this is a repeated one, but I have not been able to find anything on this. I remember seeing this diagnosed somewhere but cannot find it now.

What would leave thin little trails or grooves that circle my unripe tomato? It's only about a pinhead's width and isn't that deep either. Thanks!

John

Could be some type of miner (leaf miner?), the description sounds just right, except... I've never seen them on a fruit, just on leaves, however, they may affect fruit, not sure. Have you checked out this possibility? They leave small, thin trails in their wake and usually the trails are lighter in color (having eaten out the chlorophyll in leaves if my information is correct).
