magnolia trees

reenyJune 20, 2013

Just moved to Crossville, TN and purchased a home with several magnolia trees. Can I trim them back at this time of the year? I have one tree in particuar that is about 15 ft tall but needs to be trimmed back, I'm just afraid of damaging it if I trim it now. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We need more information and possibly a picture or two to be able to give good advice. Specifically, when you say that you want to trim them back, are you planning on topping them?...trimming out rubbing, diseased, damaged, or dead branches?...pruning them up?...or what?
