Why are my brandywine heirloom tomatoes turning black?

doctor_gonzo523August 10, 2009

I have one brandywine heirloom tomato plant. After two months of waiting it FINALLY produced fruit. Now the bottom of three of the small green tomatoes have turned black and feel a little squishy. The older tomatoes seem to be unaffected. Anyone know why this is happening?

Sounds like Blossom End Rot, abbreviated BER.
