Letting tomatoes get wet - need advice!

wolfemacleodAugust 26, 2010

A friend and I are having a heated discussion about letting tomatoes get rained on. He says go for it. Everythign he found mentions nothing about letting them get rained on and wet.

He's convinced that it's fine for them.

Please, I need as many replies as possible here. What are your thoughts about letting them get wet? Please post any links to information regarding this if you can, and what problems it can cause.

Rain or overhead irrigation is a bad thing if the temperatures and season suit various fungus diseases which are in your region.

So, sorry, but no definitive answer.

How do you plan to prevent plants from getting rained on? Move them indoors?

Could put a tarp above them! You know, as in temporary "roof."
