How do you deal with a failure of growing tomatoes?

vickster257(Z7aNJ)June 14, 2009

Hi everyone,

My son was visiting recently from his home in Tennessee and explained that last year while growing a few tomato plants, they looked ok up to a certain point and then just died. I do not recall whether they were plum or beefsteak varieties. Was the weather detrimental last year with respect to tomato growing? Did anyone else in this zone experience a similar experience? Your thoughts, please.

All my tomato plants did great last year. I didn't get enough good tomatoes off of them (I never do, so that was just par for the course), but the plants grew well. I don't think I've ever heard of tomato plants just up and dieing for no reason.
