espaliering gardenias

kadasuki(z6 NW AR)March 12, 2005

Hi ya'll,

My gardenias will arrive this week, and I plan on espaliering one to my garage wall. I'll let you know how it comes out over the next months.

Any ideas, advice, suggestions?

I consider this training technique much like training a tree as Bonsai, a life long hobby ;-].
Looking at my gardenia the branches appear flexible so it should be a fun project for you.

I am about to start a gardenia topiary. How have yours worked out? Any advice? Thanks.
