Volunteer Tomato

maternut(7 west tn)August 5, 2009

I never had a yellow tomato at this homestead. This year a volunteer plant came up and since I hate to kill a plant I potted it up into a large pot. Well it had some pretty yellow tomatoes about four inch dia. with small ribs and flat about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall. If you shut your eyes it tasted like a red tomato. Was white inside after it got real ripe, would turn pale yellow inside. Out side skin was a real bright yellow. Can not understand where this thing came from or got here. Saving a few seed if any friends would like some send a email.

Well how 'bout ya Materman! Your tomato production must have been good this year. You even have alien tomatoes showing up. I am hoping to grow just a few good, large, low acid, orange tomatoes next year. Do you have any recommendations as far as variety goes for a tomato of that description? Hope ya'll are doing well. Not too sure Rhonda but think a Kellog's Breakfast (spelling ?) might fit, for what you want.
Your plants, are doing just fine, we love them. Lost their last blooms last week. They have some new leaves.
