South West England - Devon, Summerset, Cornwall

erstanfo(8/9 Olympia WA)June 17, 2005

I'm planning a trip to Southwest England the first of July.

I've located the following gardens that look appealing from their web pages.

Any additional recomendatons or must see I have missed? Any of these that I should skip?

Hadspen Garden & Nursery,,Barrington Court, Winsford Walled Garden, RHS Rosemoor, Fernwood Nursery - Natl Phormium Collection, Pine Lodge Garden & Nursery,

Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Garden House, Buckland Abbey,

Castle Drogo Garden, University of Exeter Botanic Garden,

Hestercombe, University of Bristol Botanic Garden,

Last July I went on a self-designed garden tour in England and visited some of the gardens you list (Hadspen, Garden House,) wish I had seen others on your list (Hestercombe, Heligan) and have one very definite recommendation to make: Bosvigo. Please feel free to email me at for more details and photos, plus vital advice like "You won't believe how long it takes to drive short distances!"
