Tropical Hibiscus Blooming

MarblequeenMarch 6, 2012

I am planning on buying a tropical hibiscus(rosa sinensis), and I wanted to know whether they bloomed all year long. If not, how long is their blooming season? Secondly, the hibiscus I am looking to buy are 2 inch rootballs. Will they bloom at that size?

Depending on where you are will determine whether they will bloom year round meaning primarily enough sunlight formost then temps and feeding. The tropical hibiscus require good sunlight to bloom well. In southern states such as Florida they bloom year round. They are heavy feeders so during sp ring & summer they should be well fed but not during fall or winter if you live in zones 8 or lower. I'm not sure the size of the plant by rootball size but they should bloom for you at "6" in height or so.
