I am in Tanzania, and this vine is in my garden (and growing wild) It has unusual flowers. I am trying to identify it. It flowers in the wet season

I believe it is Aristolochia littoralis, Calico Flower (syn. A. elegans). Very nice!

Thanks Rosemarie. I'd been living in the house for 2 years before I found it, and was working on the passionfruit vine and found it entwined in the vine. This year it is all over town - so must like the current conditions - some rain, but not a lot.

Glad to help. It must like its conditions! Don't you like to find surprises in the garden!?

I's a larval food source for the Swallowtail butterflies, if they are in your area.
