Which Dracaena For Outdoors in PNW?

fireweed_1947(Western Wa 8)April 7, 2010

Had a Dracaena outside(Marginata? Don't know - it was here when I moved in)it grew to 8'. Created a raised bed around it - Soil too deep killed it. Which Dracaena can I safely plant outdoors in western Wa? I promise not to kill this one!

Dracaena indivisa is the only one that I know of that will survive in zone 8 (they come in green and purple varieties). Marginata is NOT winter hardy in zone 8 Wa as far as I know.

A lot of cordylines are labeled as and confused with dracaenas. Why not try cordyline australis? There are a lot of colored forms that look pretty tropical.
