I usually make my own potting mixes but there's a couple excellent bagged soils. It's just that they are expensive if you need a large amount. I really like Fox Farm's Ocean Forest and Happy Frog potting mixes. You can usually find them in hydroponics shops or online. Very few nurseries carry them, at least not in this area.

They need a soil that stays moist but drains fast, also with a pH around 8.
