gardenias and aphids

Springpatch77June 9, 2011

We have a gardenia that appears to have aphids or some other bug that likes to sit on the flower buds. Could the bugs cause the gardenia to not flower and if so should a spray be used on them to kill the bugs?

Please don't ever spray without knowing what insect you are killing. This is how beneficial insects get wiped out - suggest you bag a sample and take it to a reputable nursery.
