mango seed germinating

nikkinikJuly 19, 2013

So I opened the pit of a mango and it seems kind of dead. Is it possible to still try to germinate it or should I just throw it out?

throw it out! Mangos are grafted fruit. The seed from the fruit you ate will not be the fruit you get from the tree. And the quantity of fruit you get will be small. Get a proven hybrid from a quality source. They are already grafted.

It is simply a matter of fact! You can grow a very large tree from seed. The fruit will not be what you ate. The quantity and quality will be poor at best. If you want just a tree there are many more ornamental than a mango.
