Coffee is somewhat root bound

semajeJuly 10, 2010

My coffee tree is in a pot that is 4" diameter and 3 5/8" tall. It is beginning to get a bit root bound on the bottom portion of the rootball, but not at all the top. Should I put it in a bigger pot?

Hi. Can you hold off repotting until next spring? Coffee plants are semi-slow growers, need infrequent potting. Just make sure the soil doesn't dry to the point it cracks. The hotter/sunnier the spot, the more it needs watering, especially when rootbound.
Yours is a little potbound, but it could be worse. Toni
