what is this?

im PRETTY sure this is a bromeliad of some sort, but i've no idea what kind. found in the wild, round 2000' elevation, top of one of the mountain ridges on Oahu.

heres a 2nd picture of it


I've spent the last hour looking, would love any help

Would say it's some type of Dracaena rather than a brom. I'm guessing that from the leafless trunk??

That is not a bromeliad. That is a Freycinetia, relative of Pandanus. They are often referred to as climbing pandanus due to their vine-like growth habit.

That is the Freycinetia species that is native to the Hawaiian Islands, Freycinetia arborea. The Hawaiian name is leie.
