puerto rico mango seeds Question

compostworm5(9)March 14, 2011

I grabbed mangoes off random trees in puerto rico and after eating them I packed them. After they cleared through the ag inspection I noticed the poster on the wall about transporting fruit pests. One in particular was the mango seed bug/fly/moth whatever. Should I plant these seeds or destroy them?

Destroy them. Do you want the sap on your hands from causing the death of everyone in the continental United States's mango trees?

Lol. I was just kidding. You didn't have to destroy them. You could have probably just cut open the endocarp to reveal the seed and then spray the seed with a strong pesticide just in case.
