Dying Dracaena :(

kristgray(5)October 28, 2007

I have a Madagascar Dragon tree that I fear may be dying very slowly. I rescued this plant from my father's black thumbs over the summer. I think he was overwatering it. When I got the plant it had four canes, one of which I threw away when I repotted because it was bent in half/limp. The other three looked fine (roots and all). However, when I repotted, two of the three remaining canes would not stand on their own so I tied them all together. Now two of them stand on their own and the other still needs to be anchored. The one that didn't stand before but does now has a slightly wrinkly texture and is not quite as hard as the other two are. I know that I am not overwatering. I allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings and only give 6-8oz of water for a 10" pot. What could be the problem??
