Rosigold a bad choice for AZ?

mulleniumMay 8, 2011

since Rosi is an early producing plant, im thinkng it might start blooming during our frost season.. now covering and using lights might help but the tree might never set fruit if im correct, even with protection the blooms are more sensitive right?

mangodog(palm springs 9B)

mullsie - I've had one about 4 years here in Palm Springs and it flowers and fruits about the same time as all the other mangos, so I wouldn't think, even though it has a reputation for early fruiting, that it would be a problem....and the flesh - like sweet orange butter - better tasting than my manilas....

but remember, mine is well protected - planted under some large palm trees....I think I've discovered that in our dicey winter climates, that planted under house overhangs or taller trees has a huge protective benefit to their survival..... My Rosie is like a member of the family,
as any would be that grow with you throughout the years...
