Think I can get condo mangos to fruit in a grow room in MO?

rjcantorJune 27, 2013

I'm looking at Carrie, Nam Doc Mai and Mallika mangos. I grow figs and some citrus, bringing them indoors in the winter into a grow room. Any chance I could get a Mango to fruit? Which of these do you think would end up giving me the best tasting (and most) fruits?

Thanks.

My vote goes for Pickering...its a dwarf mango tree and is a prolific variety...mine produced the very next season I got it...google it and see if its something you might want to grow. Good luck!!

Here's my inground Pickering planted May 2012...

Here it is Today...only 13 months later. Granted it is planted in the ground but I've never had a mango tree grow this fast in only 13 months, I'm sure it won't grow this fast in a container but it should grow a little faster than most of the dwarf varieties?

I already picked one delicous ripe fruit and I still have 3 small fruits to look forward to...One of the best mangoes I've ever had IMHO.
