Winter sowing petunias and nicotiana

ponyexpress_1February 14, 2013

I thought I'd ask other upstate New Yorkers when they WS their Petunias and Nicotiana since I've noticed some varying answers. I am zone 6a WNY. Thanks.

Petunias will sprout quickly once it warms up. I usually don't do mine until March. I haven't done nicotiana

Thanks penny 1947. I have had petunias volunteer during warm winters. I wasn't sure how they would do if frozen. Same thing with Nicotiana. I did reserve some seed to try in the house if they don't make it. I guess I will wait to see when others have sprouted.
