HAVE: Cactus fans, here are pieces of Pereskia Aculatea

drasaid(zone 8)September 7, 2009

Spiny as all get out, it is a trailing vine like plant. It is supposed to get nice white flowers and yellow edible fruit, however it has never done so for me in New Orleans. I cut a great deal off of my mother's plant.

Is this the one that looks like a nest of furry snakes? I think they have one at the cactus greenhouse at Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. How big is your cactus?

My Grandmother had that growing in the valley. I never knew it was a cactus though, hmmm. Do you take it inside in the winter?
