WANTED: Recommendations for clumping bamboo

Zaatar(8)September 3, 2013

Trying to get coverage of bare sections of fence (southern) that currently have wax myrtle and live oak and palm trees. Space is narrow about 6 feet between edge of pool raised wall and wood fence. I dont want to add more wax myrtles and thought that clumping bamboo might be a good idea but I am afraid that even clumping bamboo might invade the neighbours year underneath the fence. Is there a way to prevent such potential invasion? Any recommendations for varieties of clumping bamboo that will remain under 20' tall?

Hi Zaatar! You will get more readers and replies if you post this on the Discussions Forum. Also there is a Bamboo Forum with very experienced growers, including several from Texas, who I've found to be very helpful when I've asked for advice about growing bamboo.

I am across this list on the Bamboo Forum:

It may give you some ideas, but it would be good to discus varieties with some Texas bamboo people for recommendtions. Kentuck, who is in Texas and sometimes posts on the Texas Forum, is very good about replying.
